Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Gateway Green?
Aliki Marinos: I wished to explore an environmentally conscious organization to become involved with since going green is the way of the future and I was also very inspired by Al Gore’s lecture in Chicago on his book promo tour: “The Future.” I had also previously heard about CGG from Chicago Sister Cities International where I was involved with an art exhibition event via Athens-Chicago. I felt the functions and events were perfect for someone like myself who genuinely enjoys being proactive in worthy causes.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
AM: The down to earth vibe, the friendly population, the opportunities.
CGG: Tell us a random fact about yourself.
AM: I bought a lemon tree three years ago and today it has 8 little lemons on it!
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book, or band?
AM: Movie: The Count of Monte Cristo, Book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Band: French disco house.
Aliki is one of many members of CGG that make our organization possible. Check out last week’s featured member, Kate Adams, here!
