Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Gateway Green?
MCR & NP: Well MC always finds stuff for us to do, she is by far the more outgoing and adventurous one of us so when (Associate Board member) Lindsay Mackey asked her to come help out, I was dragged along. But I’m glad I was because it was definitely fun and a different way to spend my Saturday night. We have also worked the Green Tie Ball, which was a blast as well. The fact that CGG is helping out the city is just a bonus.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
MCR & NP: There is always something going on. Since we live in the NW suburbs going to the city is almost an event, and every time we come back downtown it’s always for something fun and different!
CGG: Tell us a random fun fact about yourself.
MCR & NP: Well since this mini interview is about MC and I we might as well talk about how we met. We actually both grew up in Chicago on the Northside right by Superdawg. We lived on the same street, and went to the same school. MC moved out to Arlington Heights in 4th grade and I moved after 7th to Mount Prospect. For the next 8ish years we were completely unaware that we lived just 3 miles from each other. This was until MC’s 21st birthday. This is where I saw beautiful MC singing karaoke at the local bar. I actually approached her which is very unlike me being as shy as I can be, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. We have had a wonderful 3 and a half years together since then and I couldn’t be happier and I’m pretty sure MC feels the same.
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book, or band?
MCR & NP: Well if we answer this as a couple the easiest answer would be our favorite band, which is Queen. But who doesn’t love Queen? With movies though we are not even close to being on the same page, Action and Thrillers scare MC and I can only take so many Romantic Comedies, but we make it work.
