Loyola University Chicago Class of 2014
Chicago Gateway Green Fall 2013 Marketing and Events Intern
Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Chicago Gateway Green?
Sarah Whitman: To me this is the most beautiful city in the U.S. Having the opportunity to represent an organization that works to maintain and enhance the landscapes in Chicago is inspiring. So many business leaders want to participate in the greening of the city, and working for CGG on marketing and event opportunities has been a very rewarding experience so far.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
SW: Summers in this city are unreal! We have so many beautiful parks to take advantage of. I love running, biking and swimming along the lakeshore.
CGG: Tell us a random fact about yourself:
SW: I actually had the chance to live in Italy for 7 months my sophomore year of college. I LOVE the country with its rich culture, language and of course the food! I cannot go a week in life without speaking Italian with someone and having a huge plate of homemade pasta.
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book or band?
SW: To pick a favorite movie is nearly impossible, but I can watch Good Will Hunting over and over and always love it. My favorite “book” is Marie Claire magazine, The New York Times and Wall Street Journal because it’s really hard to find time to read. Also two musicians that never fail to put me in a good mood are Bob Marley and Jason Mraz, you gotta have that happy feel good music in life.
