It’s been a great time for businesses and homeowners to completely change the way that they save on energy. With green construction technologies improving every year, many businesses have been able to cut down tons of waste and even save on energy costs to run their businesses. In the same light, homeowners have remodeled to include sun rooms, skylights, and solar panel shingle roofs and drip irrigation systems that save on energy and water every day. These changes should be applauded and incorporated into every home and business so that the future of Earth doesn’t slip away.
Homeowners have been warned many summers that they can only water lawns between certain hours or to completely stop watering their lawns as water shortages crop up around the country. It’s imperative to save on water, and there are a variety of businesses and homeowners taking that to heart. The Las Vegas Palazzo Hotel and Resort has risen to fame for its eco-friendly practices. In addition to solar heating systems and waste reuse programs; they also have a variety of water saving techniques that have inspired many people to make changes in their homes. For one, the Palazzo has areas completely made from artificial turf grass. This cuts down the need to water every day. They also use drip irrigation and moisture sensors to cut down on water usage. Overall, the hotel has managed to save eight million gallons of water every year. As a result of its sustainability, the hotel was recently named the “Most Eco Friendly Hotel in America”.
Homeowners have changed the way that they water their lawns and gardens. They’ve also begun using drip irrigation systems in addition to recycling gray water. Gray water is produced from dishwashers, washers, showers and tubs. It’s safe to use for watering gardens and lawns.
In addition, businesses have built skylights, big outdoor areas and solar heated swimming pools to cut down on their energy usage. Many facilities have been able to redirect extra solar energy to light up their hotel rooms and common areas. Homeowners have also used solar panel shingles such as Powerhouse Solar Shingles to completely remodel their roofs and save on energy every year.
It’s inspiring to see the many ways that people are changing their attitudes towards going green. Businesses are continuing to innovate the industry. These same innovations can be easily translated to the home front. This is especially evident in Las Vegas and the innovative hotels continuing to be built. They provide a perfect green blueprint for others to follow.
