Volunteer

Come help us plant trees and perennials, mulch, dig, and get dirty! No prior experience is necessary, and we welcome all ages. We will hold volunteer planting days twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lisa Hodges at (312) 540-9930 x222 or by email at lhodges (at) gatewaygreen.org.

Our first planting day on April 26, 2008 at 64th and Wells was a great success. Chicago Gateway Green, along with over 150 volunteers, planted over 50 trees in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. Even Mayor Daley stopped by to plant a tree! A warm thank you to United Airlines, The John Buck Company, McGraw-Hill, and the Chicago Park District for their generous support.

These trees are the start of a new Chicago Gateway Green tree-planting initiative to move beyond the expressways and into Chicago's neighborhoods. You can help us in this new endeavor by making a donation here
