Position/title and company/organization name: CEO of Tru Fragrance and Beauty
What neighborhood do you live in? Currently Hinsdale, IL, previously Lincoln Park
What neighborhood is your business located? Tru is headquartered in Willowbrook, IL. For Tru Blooms Chicago, we harvested flowers in over 22 gardens from as far North as the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, to as far south as the Sherriff’s Boot Camp, and from Willowbrook on the west side to Grant Park on the east side.
Favorite thing about Chicago? “I love doing business in the Chicagoland area. Specifically in relation to this project, it was fantastic to work with the City of Chicago’s Office of Sustainability and our partners in the area to create this new perfume which really showcases the innovation and excitement that the city offers.”
What is your company’s green angle? All the flowers grown for Tru Blooms Chicago are being used to create the aromas of Tru Blooms Chicago. We worked with non-profits including Growing Power, Growing Home, Windy City Harvest, Green Youth Farm and the Chicago Botanic Garden to plant and maintain these gardens. We are pleased to be involved in city beautification and urban farming in Chicago.
