Chicago Wilderness is a regional alliance dedicated to protecting nature and enriching life in the Chicagoland area. More than 300 nonprofit and corporate council member organizations work together to restore local nature and improve the quality of life for all living things by protecting the land and waters on which we all depend. Some of the main initiatives the alliance is working towards include Leave No Child Inside, Restoring Nature, Climate Action, and Greening Infrastructure.
One of the coolest features on the Chicago Wilderness website is an interactive map which allows you to discover new places in our area to engage in activities you’re passionate about while exploring nature. Choose from activities ranging from biking and jogging to kayaking and geocaching! Just pick your activity and indicate your preferred distance from your starting location and the map will pull up parks within the Chicago Wilderness region that are open to the public.
