This year’s Green Tie Ball is going to be a zero waste event! What does this mean? Well, it’s actually quite simple. All of the waste from Green Tie Ball that would normally go into a landfill is instead being commercially composted. In this way, CGG is helping to nourish the planet and reduce the footprint that our biggest fundraiser of the year has on the environment.
In order to make this possible,we are partnering with Collective Resource, Inc. Check out their website and learn how to get involved by wasting less– here is their list of garbage that isn’t really garbage:
Meat, bones, fish, and seafood
Fruits and vegetables
Eggs and eggshells
Milk, cheese, and other dairy
Dressings, condiments, sauces, and soups
Flour, bread, pasta, and pastries
Coffee grounds and filters
Nuts and nut shells
Spices, oils, and fats
100% Paper plates and napkins
Corn based plastic cups and bottles
Remove all the labels
from the fruit’s skins
We look forward to getting involved by making Green Tie Ball a zero waste event, thanks to Collective Resource, Inc! Small efforts truly can make a big impact on the environment and the city we love.
