It’s Transformation Tuesday!
This week, we are featuring the Expressway Garden that previously belonged to WBBM Newsradio, situated along the inbound Edens Expressway at the Peterson Avenue entrance. There are approximately 161,000 motorists who pass this site daily, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The garden now consists of vibrant yellow “Stella de Oro” daylilies, lavender Russian Sage, and evergreen junipers. Moore Landscapes tended to it throughout the 2012 growing season, April to November. After putting in over 25 hours of labor and removing around 120lbs of litter, it is safe to say this garden looks beautiful!
Thanks you to our Expressway Partner WBBM Newsradio for their continued partnership. They are now sponsoring a garden on the Eisenhower Expressway, so this garden on the Edens is currently available to sponsor.
