Partnership Committee of the Associate Board

Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Gateway Green?
Julia Bourque: I had heard of Gateway Green through the highway sponsorship program, Green Tie Ball and through a friend (Kate Adams) who was formerly employed with them. When my friend told me about Gateway’s associate board, I immediately wanted to get involved not only because of the work Gateway does here in Chicago but also because I knew there would be some great partnership opportunities between Gateway and the organization I work for, The Nature Conservancy.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
JB: There are so many great things about to Chicago; it’s tough to pick one! Aside from all of the great people I’ve met since moving here, my favorite thing to do is spend time along the lakefront, whether it be running, biking, paddle boarding or just hanging at the beach.
CGG: Tell us a random fun fact about yourself.
JB: I might possibly have the world’s smallest adult-size ears. Seriously.
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book, or band?
JB: If I’m basing this answer off of how many times I’ve seen a movie or read a book, I’d have to say the movie I’ve watched and enjoy the most is Forest Gump (I know nearly every single line in the movie), and the book I’ve read the most times is Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. He’s definitely my favorite author.
