Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Chicago Gateway Green?
Matt Starr: I believe in the future of the city of Chicago as one of the best places in the country to live and work. The mission of Chicago Gateway Green to create and sustain green space around the city is just one of the many factors that should give Chicagoans a great deal of civic pride. As Chicago looks to attract more residents and businesses over the long-term, the environmental issues championed by Chicago Gateway Green and its corporate and community partners are easy to highlight as a selling point of the city.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
MS: The lakefront. From biking or jogging on the lakefront path to beach volleyball at North Ave Beach, going on one of my first dates with my fiancé at the Lincoln Park Zoo or hanging out at a dog beach, Chicago’s lakefront is my favorite thing about the city.
CGG: Tell us a random fact about yourself:
MS: I ran with the bulls during the San Fermines festival in Pamplona, Spain – twice! Coolest (and probably stupidest) thing I have ever done.
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book or band?
MS: Tossup between Caddyshack or Slap Shot.
