Chicago Gateway Green: Why did you decide to get involved with Gateway Green?
WS: Urban cityscapes need green spaces for so many reasons, I wanted to get involved to help implement Chicago Gateway Green’s mission to create and maintain those invaluable spaces, and get more people aware to the many benefits they bring.
CGG: What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
WS: Chicago has it all: good infrastructure, culture, and natural resources, rolled in with a low-key attitude and can-do resolve. It is inspiring to see all the great things people are working on in this city.
CGG: Tell us a random fun fact about yourself.
WS: Every year, I compete in the ‘World’s Largest Trivia Contest’ back in my hometown of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. It is 54 hours of non-stop trivia over a weekend to support the local college radio station – usually there are about 400 teams and over 12,000 people playing. Last year, our team, Dad’s Computers, won the contest for the first time!
CGG: What is your favorite movie, book, or band?
WS: One of my favorite movies of all-time is Clue. The ensemble cast and comedic timing is perfection. One year, I will finally get enough of my friends to do an epic group Halloween costume. And I’ve included a picture of me at work as the Dread Pirate Roberts from the Princess Bride. Delta Institute competed against our affiliate, ReBuilding Exchange, in a costume photo contest.
