Green Tie Ball is Chicago Gateway Green’s signature fundraising event. The infamous gala, returning each year with a new and engaging theme, raises funds for Gateway Green’s Expressway Partnership Program. It was first held in 1992 as a 500-person street party and is now one of the best-known charity events in Chicago, attended last year by nearly 3,000 people and historically by upwards of 4,000 people. The gala attracts Chicago’s most prominent public, political and media figures, environmental supporters as well as young professionals and local celebrities.
This year’s event took place at A. Finkl & Sons Steel Mill in Lincoln Park with a delicious Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory theme. Guests enjoyed food from Chicago’s top restaurants, premium open bars, multiple stages of eclectic entertainment, and more. The always entertaining ABC-7’s Windy City Live hosts, Val Warner & Ryan Chiaverini, returned to emcee once again. The fundraiser is co-chaired by Lee Golub of Golub & Company and his wife Sandy Golub. Vice co-chairs are Grigory Pekarsky of Vesta Preferred Realty and Molly Bromiley of Northern Trust. With our wonderful partners, volunteers, and strong dedicated following, Green Tie Ball continues to reinvent itself as the most anticipated gala experience of the year.
